Back to the Future, or Alliance, For a While!

Not permanently! I am still going to be playing mostly Horde in the future, but as I stated in my last blog post, I intend to have an Alliance main as well.

As such, I server and faction changed my 2nd 90 hunter, sending her over to Silvermoon and changing her from a Goblin to a Dwarf. I decided to go a bit different to my usual Nelfs and Draenei!

So here she is in her transmogged glory:

I have also decided to try and get my legendary cloak on her (though I wasn't as happy when I found out she was only on Chapter 1...).

So that's the plan to keep myself amused between now and WoD (or between now and getting Beta access!)

We shall see how long it lasts, but I would like to get this hunter as well geared a my main back on Draenor!

The Waiting Game

Howdy folks, long time no blog!

As most of you know I stopped writing quite a while ago as I was getting bored with no new content and running out of things to blog about.

With the ever increasing amount of information available about the Beta, my excitement for the game is slowly growing (even though I still try not to read too much about it).

However one of my friends now has Beta access so I'm going to be finding out more about the hunter changes than I would have on my own so I figured its time to brush off the blog!

Since the last time I played I have levelled a Holy Paladin to 90 via PvP (and discovered that healing BGs isn't as bad as I once thought!) I had a lot of fun levelling her and even started to gear her up before I got distracted - that is something I intend to go back to at some point.

I have also bought the Digital Deluxe edition of Warlords of Draenor for my main account! I recently also started a new job (yay!) so my time online and generally looking for stuff to do is lessened :)

I used my free char boost on a Dwarf Warlock I still had back on Steamwheedle Cartel so I have been busy taking her around the Timeless Isle getting her some gear. I also server and faction changed one of my hunters so she is now a Dwarf on Silvermoon - she is busily gearing up as I intend to have a horde and alliance main next expansion. I also bought myself a level 90 Night elf Shadow Priest on Draenor to mix thing sup a little!

Thus I have plenty to keep me busy over the next few months, as well as many achievements and loose ends I intend to tie up.

I finally reached exalted with Darkmoon Faire on my druid, and am working on some of the other reputations that I need to hit my 50 reputations achievement. I'm also 20 mounts away from my 200 mount achievement so will be looking to try and complete both of those at some point between now and the start of WoD.

The Drafia is kind of hibernating until WoD with many of the usual people taking breaks as the lack of content is just too much to take but I am keeping things going as best I can, and there are still some people logging on regularly.

If any of my readers have guilds on Silvermoon looking for a ranged DPS or Flex/Normal SoO drop me a message as I'm looking to get my Dwarf into the action and geared as much as my main hunter!

Other than that, I shall try to get back into the rhythm of posting more regularly, as well as throwing up Beta info as my friend finds it!

Ciao for now!

Can You Hear the Cries of Horror?

As most of you are no doubt well aware by now, this happened yesterday:

Most peoples' instant reaction was a kindo f shock and horror at that "release date" (hence the blog title ^^). The reason I'm putting this in quotation marks is that it was confirmed by @WatcherDev on Twitter that its basically a placeholder, but we're still looking at a "Fall 2014" release which would be September onwards.

So yes, it looks like we may be facing at least another six months of Siege of Orgrimmar - enough time for all those fresh level 90s to start and finish the legendary questline! Also, I may actually finish it on my Shaman and get my second cloak (maybe...if I can face more LFR which will soon be full of fresh 90s...).

Also the ability to purchase a stand alone level 90 is available in the Shop:

While I want to go ahead and buy the pre-order now to get my 90 boost, Its just outside of my budget currently (especially as I want the Digital Deluxe, which is £10 dearer than what we paid  for the DD of MoP!) so shall have to wait a few weeks to afford that. This week's money shall be going on the pre-order of Reaper of Souls!

In guild news, we had a bit of a blip this past week as two of my Officers left the guild to seek out higher progression raiding elsewhere (one of which was technically our raid leader). On the part of one of these it came as no surprise as he had been talking to me about it for a few days while he tried to make his decision as he liked being in the guild, so I advised to do whichever makes him happiest as at the end of the day, it is a game and he should be doing the things that he enjoys most. The other person leaving did come as a surprise as they didn't have the decency to forewarn me. However, I wish them both the best in their new guild.

Luckily, our raid team is still going with the help of our lovely tank Raidhoof who has recruited in a couple of his old guildies and taken over raid leading, so hopefully good times are ahead!

Now outside of WoW I occasionally watch a few streamers, but I mostly watch Towelliee. During the week I managed to get into a World Boss run with him (woo mini claim to fame xD) and it was much fun ^^

And yes I was sad enough to take a few screenshots :D (He is the Undead Monk to the right of the Tauren on a raptor, an yes I even screenshotted my friends list xD)

Information Overload (If You Let It Anyway)

Reading The Godmother's recent blog has inspired me to actually write another one of my own!

As she reminds us, we have recently been informed that there is basically a metric ton of information about Warlords of Draenor that the Dev team have ready that hasn't been shared with us.

This mountain of information shall soon be coming our way and as she points out, there are many different ways that people try to deal with all this.

I shall no doubt do what I always do when there are large patches/expansions upcoming - which is largely nothing!

Go away WoD Info, I know you are there but I choose not to see you!

Like the rest of the fan base, I know there is a lot of information out there, and I even skim read some of it, but largely, I tend not to actually read up on everything.

I don't mind big things being out there, and I will inevitably read some massive spoilers (either from clicking MMO-Champion or such like, or from Twitter) which I have no issue with.

However I don't tend to actively go and seek all the information I can possibly find on a new patch or expansion. This inevitably means that I log in on patch day and have no idea what has changed and just joyfully bask in the excitement of my guildies as we all tell each other what we've found out.

I will admit, I do tend to skim read over and look for anything that might be changing for hunters, considering that is my main class I play, and I sometimes read up on some of the changes that might affect my other alts (but not always!)

Mostly, I rely on the interpretation of said notes and information from the blogs that I read and use that as my basis for understanding what is coming rather than the official Blizzard released information (which usually leaves me with some varied feelings on the different aspects of changes incoming ^^).

I did read about the upcoming changes to heroic dungeons in Warlords of Draenor and the fact that they will need a Silver in Proving Grounds to be able to PuG them, which did worry me as it was something I hadn't attempted (having only just gotten Bronze when I initially did it). I do a fair amount of my dungeons as PuGs, despite being in a guild. (Yes I could ask guildies, but half the time I feel that I would slow guildies down so would be better off with randoms - yes I know that's a silly point of view :p).

So I logged in and after updating the guildies that were online of the upcoming change sent my hunter off to do Proving Grounds until she got Silver, and proceeded to one shot it. It seems having a large amount of gear since last trying helped the situation somewhat!

I intend to try and get the rest of my 90s through Proving Grounds at some point, but no idea when as yet.

In other News, I have been attempting to get the green fire scenario done on my Warlock (to much frustration). I have managed to make my way through to the last boss, but can't quite manage to kill him. Have also been attempting to learn how to play Destro which possibly wasn't the best time or place to do that!

However one of my guildies has written a lovely guide on our forums and I aim to have finished this before WoD comes out (either that or wait till I'm 100 and zerg the sodding thing xD)

So to round off, I may only read some of my usual blogs in the upcoming months in an effort not to read too much about the upcoming changes, but I still love you all :p

(That being said, gief all the information about Garrison!)

Blending In Nicely

Still playing my lowbie Deathknight (who's levelling has been severely hampered by Pokémon - am one pokémon away from completing the Central Kalos Pokedex!)

She has however reached a respectable level 68, and I'm going to wait until she hit's 70 before sending her packing to the cold north. Her current levelling path has her questing in Blade's Edge (and whoever thought that two quests to kill two different sets of 30 ogres was a good idea, oh my gosh :-p) and its a place that makes it hit home how large and (for the most part) empty a lot of these areas are now.

Here is my Deathknight looking small and insignificant on her Iron Skyreaver (a mount that is fairly large!) against the backdrop of one of the Blade's Edge canyons.

I've purposefully stayed away from a lot of the information about the new zones and thigns we may see (granted there isn't a LOT of information, but I always do this as I prefer to have a very vague knowledge and be pleasantly surprised when its released). However flying around today, I can't wait to see what a lot of these areas used to look like, when we head forth into Warlords of Draenor. I know the zones aren't going to exactly match what we see in Outland today, but part of me from a purely historical point of view wants to be able to match up what used to go where and try and figure out what made it how it looks today.

Other than that, Happy Commercial Love Day :)
